Looping and Recording Question

Is it possible to play a loop and record at the same time? I use looped drum tracks (EZ drummer) to get guitar ideas and sometimes I want to just jam and record and not have to drag and drop a loop and copy it 100 times. Is there a way to just play 1 looped clip and record?

I am using Sony Acid Pro 7.0

im using Cubase and i can just hit record on loop and it will keep all the takes that it records over, just underneith the others.
i listen to em and if i dont like me i just "undo record" for that one and go thru em that way.
its good and all but you still gotta check thru em all till you find what you want, its good if you can remember which one you want, but i usually just duplicate the EZ loop about 20/30 times and just do it that way, then everything is there in the open.

either way is good.

yeah well i would say acid is set up for that, is as cubase. i got a big section on it in the help menu.

like you say 10 mins is pretty long so yeah, tis alot of loops for sure.
i can just peel back the loop takes off one another till i like one if i record on loop, but either way there's gonna be some time burned doing it.

i know what you mean though, you might only play a cool riff once and then you would never remember it in a hunderd years unless youve recorded it.

I think Acid will just let you grab the right end of the loop as long as its been acidized or converted to an acid loop. Then just grab the right end and drag it out as long as you need it.
