While I wouldn't call it Smooth Jazz, it is a more pure jazz but it is smooth. So I digress.

And ya, she is a bit of a hotty. Along with the many other hotty jazz singer's popping up lately. But still my favorite has to be the sexy jazz sax play Candy Dulfer. She crossed both traditional and smooth jazz.
Here is a smooth piece with Dave Stewart, more recent as this was oringally from early 90's.

Not a jazz 'freak', but I like this smooth sexy jazz. :-)

BTW Bleak, the language is Italian and not Portuguese.

Noize, thanks for posting the Candy Dulfer video hadn't heard this song in ages. Enjoyed this newer version thoroughly!

Nightcap, I was torn whether to post the original old one or this newer version, which I think is still probably a few years old by now.

Oh what the heck, here is the original version. She looks kinda spooky there with the pale makeup thing going.

Theres also a pretty cool version of Pick Up the Pieces that I do believe our own Prince was involved with. but she did play on a good deal of some of his later funk and jazz recordings as well.

Noize, what a treat! I do like both versions. A great song will always be a great song.

You're right about the age of the original. 'Lily Was Here' was released in 1989! Hard to believe. Candy Dulfer was just 20 years old back then. Maybe her age and the era explain the "spooky" look. It was the 80s... LOL

Yeah, she has worked with some great names in music. Prince e.g. was so impressed with her that he canceled her and her band as the supporting act and asked her to play on stage with him in 1988. Guess you don't say 'no' when that happens and for sure a sign you have something going for you.

Slow dancing the night away... ;-)
