Hi, I recently bought a Nady PRA-8 Mic Preamp

and I was wondering how well this would be compatible with my Phonic Helix Board 12 Firewire Mixer.

My mixer only has 4 XLR inputs, but a total of 8 1/4" inputs. The Nady Preamp has 8 1/4" outputs, but i was wondering if that would be possible to connect on my mixer, because it was only designed with 4 XLR inputs? I want the full eight XLR inputs on the preamp to mic a drummer.

This seems like a stupid question, but I just wanted to make sure that this is compatible. If anyone can help me out, that would be awesome. Thanks.

ok the links above didn't work, but i searched both, i'm assuming you are gonna use the nady to enable you to use more mircrphones and plug those outputs into the 1/4" inputs on your mixer....if that's the case then yes, it will be perfectly fine...keep in mind, some of your inputs are coupled stereo so be sure to set your settings right in your software to record only the left and only the right to keep them isolated.

but yeah, that preamp will work fine with your mixer, also keep in mind you dont' really need to use it on the first four channels of the mixer, unless there's a noticeable quality or noize difference.

Compatible yes, I used to do a similar thing with that Nady pre. For the price it is ok but I would upgrade asap (or wait for a little more $$$).
