Exporting Tracks from a BR1600CD recorder

Okay we have quite a few songs recorded, etc. Now we want to export the tracks in WAV format for possible use in Sonar. We followed the manual directions, etc and have had nothing but failure. The instructions say to export using *_* for PC's . What we got for a 8 track song was 4 tracks. The first track export had tracks 1 and 2 on it. The next track export had tracks 3 and 4 on it, etc. We've tried a few other settings and failed.

We looked over the manual and the knowledge base. Looks like we followed instructions to a T but be missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried muting tracks 2, 4, 6 and 8 on the first export and then 1, 3, 5 and 7 on the second export? That would give you 8 separate track exported in wav format.

I also am wondering if they had a software package that installed on the PC to aid in exporting the files from the 1600.

There was no PC software added for this purpose. Not even a driver load. Just the USB connection. That part actually worked fine. We could see and copy/play the wav files in the USB folder on the 1600.

Have not tried the mute idea. I did ask if the tracks desired to be exported needed to be selected or highlighted in some fashion. The owner said no. I'm the guitarist in the band and the unit belongs to another musician friend that offered to record a few songs for us. So all I know is what I have read in the user manual pdf.

Again thanks for the help and ideas.

OK, that might be the trick then. Your sending the track to an internal folder on the 1600 so it is probably mixing them down to stereo files from each of the 8 tracks in pairs. As you stated, 1/2, 3/4 and so on.

I think there might be a menu selection that might allow it to do all mono tracks. If not then the idea of muting the odd, then even tracks and doing and export to that folder should work fine.
