May 31, 2009 02:03 pm I've seen that on e before about the Journey tune. It is funny to see it again. There is a comic out there now doing it on an acoustic guitar during his routine. I can't think of his name though.
I'll have to check out the other 3 video's in awhile. The Hollies indeed!
May 31, 2009 02:23 pm That is pretty funny.

May 31, 2009 05:37 pm Cool find on the original video of Space Oddity for sure. I hadn't seen it up on Youtube before.
A good deal of similarity on those 3 as well.

Jun 01, 2009 06:08 pm Yep, that is him. I hadn't listened to it in a while but it was the same thought stream.
Now I have to come back and watch the others as well.
Procol Harum though???
Jun 01, 2009 10:09 pm it's just a little melodic line in the procol harum song--you can hear something similar in the two bach pieces. it lasts about 3 seconds. those three go together: they don't have anything to do with pachelbel

Jun 01, 2009 10:29 pm Your gonna make me go listen to them all aren't you?
Oh well, its good music anyway.
Jun 02, 2009 05:15 am it happens in the first minute of each bach piece
who cares though. i can't come up with a verse that connects to a chorus i have and i'm so mad i just punched a bedside fan as hard as i could and may have broken my hand. nothing seems to work with it. i want to destroy the world. it shouldn't be this way. it's such a simple thing. jeez how many years have i been here? this is ridiculous

I feel your pain, fortymile, but out of anyone here, I find it completely odd that it's you who couldn't find the verse for your chorus. Your previous works are so elaborate.(Heathen) Could it be that you have found it, but just don't like it? I'm having a simillar issue with the Nooners riff that Tripps wrote... it's just a bit out of my comfort zone, key & rhythm-wise. Crux is right, though... if it was easy it wouldn't be worth it. I'm interested to hear what music presented this dilemma.
It'll come to ya'.
Jun 02, 2009 05:30 pm heathen sucks, though. there are so many things i have to fix in that song. the drums need to be redone and made to sound more realistic, i have to remove the strings and do something else there, i have a melody but must figure out what the song is about--it basically just needs to be completely redone. i'm a little embarrassed about that song. it was a case of having too many tools and trying to use them all.
but thanks for the support. the lowest point for this new thing was when i was seriously considering a riff that i suddenly realized was spanish metal.
hand is ok btw

Jun 02, 2009 08:35 pm Whats funny about this is I'm with Hue. I like Heathen as well for the qualities it does have right now. I also completely dig the trippy sound of Airlock. Its got something going on with the sound and just the way it all comes across that just makes me want to go drop a..... never mind.
But you get my point I hope.
I know exactly what you feel though as I'm the pickiest bastard on the planet when it come to my own creating. I hate my own work and am never happy with it completely.
But, I do have to draw the line and know that when I get to the ballistic point its probably a finished product.

Jun 02, 2009 09:02 pm I like Heathen... not the title, but the song. This stuff will come to you, though. It kind'a 'has to'... it's your stuff... so, it will. "Sometimes it takes some time."
Spanish metal. haha Right on.
Good to hear the hand's ok.
Jun 06, 2009 09:21 am Listened to 2/3 of the OP video. The only song I recognized was Journey's.
