Give us the lowdown on what exactly you are using hardware and software wise. Which interface did you buy and what drum machine/module are you using? Also, what software?

I do not do this but would assume...

1) Drums to drum machine
2) Drum machine outputs to interface
3) Interface to PC
4) Configure software to capture the correct inputs

Last but not least, what is the problem area? Are you having trouble hooking things up? Do you need assistance configuring your software? All of the above? :)

Give some detail, there are a few around here that record digi drums and a little info might help them solve your issue.

Ok, my first thought would be basic setup issues.

1. Do you have the NIO driver installed?
2. Did you configure Ableton to use the NIO as your interface (if you have another soundcard it could be defaulting to that one)
3. Did you arm the track to record and assign the correct input to that track.

All DAW software will have a hardware setup portion but I am unsure on where to find that in Ableton as I don't run it.

I would personally have avoided the NIO just for the fact that it is USB 1.1

Anyways, you need to have the NIO driver installed for Ableton to see it, I checked at their site and it is definitely available. Without the driver Ableton is most likely defaulting to your computer soundcard/speakers.

For the money spent I would have purchased the UX2 from Line6.

No matter which interface you use their will be drivers and configuration. You need to really get a grasp of that, it is not complex and once you understand it is very easy to get going. Spend the time.
