I'm looking for a new mixer, but what i need is one with at least 8 mic inputs, where each channel has its own individual rca outputs... does anyone have any suggestions?

ChemicalMan,

I've never seen such a thing...RCA outs for individual channels. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Is there any particular reason that you want RCA outs instead of 1/4 inch or XLR?

Because my Delta 1010 LT sound card has only 2 mic inputs, and a butt-load of RCA inputs...

Ah, yes...there's that...

Well, there's a lot of guys around here who use those, so there ought to be some info coming shortly.

But does anyone know what kind of a quality loss we get for going from 1/4 inch to RCA? That's my main concern...

Your going to get quality loss no matter what.

The only mixers you will find now that have an RCA channel out will be from the 70's and early 80's by Tascam and the like. They were built to be used with the 4 and 8 track tape machines.

Any time an adapter is added into the line it is going to cause signal to change, good or bad. Adding a mixer will be the same thing. Signal will change.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over quality loss with a simple plug/jack adapter. It's just wire.

I suppose there could be a small possibility of introducing hum due to the tiny unshielded area, but I've never noticed any problems with my gear.

If you don't hear a difference, there isn't any.

Ya, in his case it would be negligible and very easy to live with. In most cases really.
