I am very new to home recording and would love some feedback on the mixing of this track. Will be recording vocals in a few days.
Thanks so much

May 05, 2009 01:49 pm This is crazy stuff, I like it. Can't comment on the mix atm due to crap speakers but I can't wait to hear the vocals on it.

May 07, 2009 09:20 pm Hey kchee, welcome to HRC by the way.
I'm hearing a very eastern influence there in the sarod mp3. And seeing the instruments in your collection include a Sitar and several Gamelan could be miss-leading. I am going to give it a better listen tomorrow and I'll comment on the mix then.
The art/noise music world is fairly small so I had to dig a little. Should have just followed your link with the mp3 home. I and my sons have a very wide/eclectic taste in music. We actually own several PINEAL VENTANA CD's. My compliments on that.
But indeed, I will check out the rough mix further and listen to the one in your profile as well tomorrow for sure.
And just to note, I enjoyed Sarod so far. I'll be curious to hear were you take that one for sure.

May 08, 2009 08:45 am thanks ... the particular track sarod actually is just guitars, with a bunch of delay .... the sitar is not used in that song.

May 19, 2009 06:51 pm Interesting indeed. Very mysterious and dark as stated. The vocal bit made it very moody as well.
I liked the drone synth choice as well. Not huge buzzy but still keeps itself a focal point.
