Exporting Reason Into Sonar

I am trying to export my midi project from Reason 4.0 into Sonar 7 PE but cant seem to figure it out. I would like to try and export each track in Reason separately so that i dont have to mix part of the song in reason and then the rest in Sonar....I tried that and it sucks.

Normally I would rewire reason, but I cam to find out that Reason does not have rewire capabilities when running vista 64 bit.

So far Ive only been able to export the audio from reason, but that only allows me to send one full wave track to sonar with all of the mixed down audio from reason.

I tried the option of export midi track, but when I open that exported file within sonar there are a few problems.

1. I see the meters moving but i am not getting any playback.

2. the midi file seems to be off time with the rest of the project. I can tell it is by when the meter spikes, it is totally off with the audio i have recorded in sonar.

3. In reason i have redrum being used as separate tracks, when i send the midi track to sonar, it sends a the redrums track as one single track.

Anyone have any experience with this???

I've not used Reason on a long time but it should export same as all the other audio apps out there.

Simply mute the tracks you don't want to export as wav and then export each track that way. So it would go like export track 1 mute 2 3 and 4. Export track 2, mute 1 3 and 4. And so on.

I would think there should be an option to export as separate tracks, but maybe not.

Hey Noize.

Thanks for the help. I tried that, it did work. The only thing im not able to do is get redrum to separate. in reason i run each redrum channel to a separate track in the mixer, but all the drums essentially record on one midi track.

im not really sure how to separate this without having to open a new redrum synth for each drum or cymbol.

I got it...I have to solo twice, once on the desired track and once within redrum.

I cant wait for 64 bit to work with reason so i can get back to rewire. It was so much easier

Glad you got it working. I figured it had to work one way or another. Being ReWired there probably would be more to it then just one mute button. or solo button.
