behringer uca222 setup connecting to a mixer/decks to record mixes

hiya all come across this site and seems like there some good info onhere. i have recently purchased a behringer uca222 audio interface which i believe is the same as the uca202 but with some more software onit! all i would like to know is how to get it working properly???? i have installed the audio interface and the audacity program but when i go to record it is picking up background noise i.e my voice i have run the red&white cable into my record output on my mixer and put them in the input on the audio interface!!! anyone be willing to help a newb out would be much appreciated as its gettin on my tits now!!!

OK, I'm a bit confused as to what the actual problem is with it. It working, its not working? It records, it doesn't record?

Your voice is noisey?

What mixer exactly are you running the cable from, and what type of cable?

Also, knowing a little about your PC will help as well. What is the CPU speed, amount of RAM, what is the OS you are running?

well its records on the program but its pickin up noises like my voice if i was to talk so it cant be working properly???yh my voice would be as loud as what im recording its asif its picking up all the sounds from my laptop and not through the phono to phono cables! using a gemini ps626 efx mixer with the phono to phono coming out of the record bit on the back next to master. tbh about my laptop i know very little about im rubbish with computers/laptops but all i can say bout it is its a toshiba with a qosmio engine an has been pretty good to me so far??any help much appreciated

Then the microphone is picking up all the sounds from the room. That is not uncommon at all. That is why we use a separate room to record in that is away from all the electrical sounds and what not. That is easy to fix. Move the mic away from the things making the noise.

but im not using a microphone or are you talking about on the pc?its definatly not right shouldnt it just be recording through whats going through the mixer/decks??? and it also has a a hum all the way through the recording?

The laptop onboard mic was on wasn't it?

Just ran across this yesterday with a friends son.
