Exporting finished track from cubase, without losing quality

I have two questions....

1. I'll finish recording/mixing a song in cubase, it will sound exactly the way I want it. I'll export it as a wave file, and when I listen to it as a wave file in itunes/ect, I feel like it loses a lot of it's quaility. I record rap music, so I'm only dealing with an instrumental and the vocal tracks. My question is...How do I export the audio mixdown from cubase, without losing the quality?

2. If I upgrade from cubase LE to cubase 5, can I open the already recorded track from LE in 5?

Assuming you're exporting as PCM data (with at least a 16-bit word length at 44.1kS/s), you shouldn't really hear any appreciable difference.

If you're exporting at some horribly lossy lo-fi codec (such as a 160kbps MP3 or something) then there's your answer.

i used to have the same issue.

at the end of the day, iTunes really, really sucks balls man.
try importing the finished product back into another project to check it i reckon.

you proly already know, but if you still wanna use iTunes, you can right click on the song in iTunes, and select "get info" then you can select a preset to make it sound less crapy.

i usually go for "treble boost". seems to be the better choice of them.

Don't forget to click the box for Realtime Export when ur exporting to a WAV file at atleast 16 bit as was mentioned above. Simple choosing export mixdown will lose some quality, has to be Realtime to let it process correctly.

Sidenote, I was big stickler on this a long while back and I think there was a long ol'thread on this topic, but from wat i can surmise from my own experience and other forum members' input is that Cubase does not have a perfect mixdown algorithm, unlike Pro Tools and there is a slight difference between the project track and the exported file.
