now it's done
yet again and again.
blades;
smeared with blood
that wash away like water in vain.
The blood that gratifies the blood of his own
the blood that satisfies the lust of it's own;
never mind it
push it aside;
they've made those laws;
NEVER ABIDE!
laws that say:
destroy them,destroy them all
burn them,behead them all!
If your brothers have failed
so has your god;
If your brothers have failed
so has your god;
destroy them,destroy them all
burn them,behead them all!
it's a crime to live free!
these are readymade words.
has your god fallen or is he still by you?
has he awoken or has he just foresaken you?
If your brothers have failed
so has your god;
If your brothers have failed
so has your evil god;
destroy their words,destroy their knives,
destroy their will which ever thrives.
destroy their will,destroy their fest!
destroy the destruction that fueled their quest.
fueled their f****** quest.
i've tried to highlight an underlying meaning.not sure wether it makes sense.go ahead...please criticize!lol!

Apr 01, 2009 04:52 pm Interesting. Metal, I'm guessing? ; )
Most times than not, we'll write the music before the lyrics, and then fit lyrics into the context of the song. Also more times than not, by the time the music is done, there are no lyrics to be sung. They're usually the very last thing we do... both in writing, and recording. That's just us, though.

Apr 01, 2009 10:43 pm it's a parallel process.both are different skills.when a riff comes to my mind i cn not help writting it down.similarly when some awesome words come to my mind i cannot help but writting it down.though i want to do more melodic aspects of metal with some singing as well.
and this is for you "hue": you kind of do things the same way lamb of god does it.randy(vocalist is nowhere to be seen untill the drums,guitars,bass is recorded,mixed and the only thing that remains isthe vocals!weird.but awesome.

Apr 02, 2009 08:41 am Well, then I guess that it's not 'just us', afterall. : ) Actually, that doens't surprise me, timexone. Alot of peeps write like that. It is that process that assures that the lyrics really do fit the song well. Every once and a while. theWent(co-writer) will say that what he has written doesn't fit the song as-is, "but it will, if we just lengthen this part by a measure...", or something like that. For the most part, though, that rarely happens. I have a hard time writing songs that aren't about 'something'... quite the opposite for theWent, he does the vague/can-mean-anything-type lyrics, much better than I.

Apr 02, 2009 02:39 pm Reading it, I get vague references now that you have stated the topic. Reading it without that knowledge I would be a little lost.
Alas, I don't like to write lyrics 100% comprehensible. I like leaving things open for personal interpretation.
