ok i left the old one in my prof still for comparison (if ya can be bothered)
I did alot of work on the drums and sorted out some compy stuff that was driving me nuts and it sounds better it think.

went a bit overboard on the limiter but dont really know what im doing so...

Someone do a tutorial already!!!
(compression and limiting final mix)

comments appreciated.
cheers.

I think it sounds badass. It does seem a tad bright (cymbals), but I'm at work so take that with a grain of salt. Come to think of it, that song had a bright sound to it if I remember correctly. I think the voice needs a little growl, but that could be because you seem to have a higher pitch than James.

The one deep backup at 3:30 seemed out of place, I like them at the end of a verse but that one was odd imo.

Now redo "Creeping Death" so I can hear that :)

I'm not sure which mix I like best though. I gotta listen some more before I pass judgment.

the cymbals are definatley too bright without a doubt. i can hear it on my cd player here.

yeah the vox stuff was just spontaneous.
i did it all in 2 takes and was done with it.
havent been doing much singing lately so the old voice was noticably uncomfortable sounding. just have to wait till i get back the rehearsal room to get that angry ***** back in action.

Creeping Death huh?

no prob. gives me something to do while me drummer gets better. he actaully has a steel strap holding his knee togehter and he's got more surgeries coming.

hey Capen! can you do the leads for "Creeping Death?" not a mad lead player myself. can do the rest though.

i can just go and get the drum maps from guitar pro instead of sitting for days programming them like ive been doing all this time. i only just found out about it. geez what a snapper!

I will have to take a listen, I don't remember them being to technical, I'll let you know. Love that song though.

OK, well now that is a different story.

I'm still worried about loosing all that bottom end at the 20 second mark though. But that's just me. Whats odd is it seems to come back a bit later. I agree though, the vox are kinda cool indeed.

the bass at the start is played thru a wah pedal and after the start, it drops out and the normal bass kicks in.

i thought it sounded pretty loud though.
just doesnt have the fuzz after the start.
also i got a pumping effect going on at times with the bass too. i accidently recorded the bass with a delay on the pedal. maybe thats it?

when i played the song at a mates place, the drums seemed to be not as loud.
the cd player and speakers are nothing special. why would they be sitting back in the mix?

actually the 20 second mark?

i cant say ive noticed it there.
will have another look at it. again, i guess playing the bass thru a guitar wah pedal wasnt the best move, along with the delay, who know's what it was doing to the sound eh?

Deon, I listen closer and louder to see if I can pinpoint exactly what goes AWOL in the lower end at that point and when exactly it comes back. That might help you find it. I don't notice any fluctuation in the sound, but I wasn't really listening loud enough to probably notice it either.

sweet as Noize. i hope you do find something that i cant hear, coz it might confirm my suspicion on my speakers.
maybe im not getting the bass i need from them.

could be why im hearing flucuations and not hearing what you are at the start.
been looking at getting a sub but they expensive.
im looking at a krk 10inch and they want 700aud.

Ya, I don't notice any pumping so to speak at all. But the lower end does seem to come back, maybe not as heavy as the intro but it does come back into the audio. I was maybe listening a bit too quiet to hear it all the way through. But I agree, the tonal change from the Wah bass may be what I am hearing that makes it sound like its going away. But it may be a little change in the guitar's tone as well that accounts for that drop in lower end at the 20 second mark.

its got me. i dint change the guitars at all.
i think some strange things are going on due to the fact its a guitar wah on a bass. the 20 sec mark and th wah is actually still going, so i dunno.
do you think my speakers are having trouble with certain bass freq?

anyway, cheers for the help. time to get onto an original.
