Hi All,

Does anyone know if any free multiband compressors exist out there?

Thanks
Matt

Wow, thanks Hue for the quick reply. I found the C3 Multi Band Compressor which looks pretty much like what I am looking for and its FREE. I haven't installed it yet on my studio machine but I have high hopes. Thanks again.

Word (to the peeps).

Maul-the-band compression makes a half-decent band aid (for a broken leg) on rare occasions, but otherwise, it's one of the more overused (and sonically damaging, usually) plugs out there.

Your welcome timexone. MM is quite right, though. Be carefull how/where you use that thing. Don't rely on any presets... listen very closely whilst you tweak. : )

I used to use them often to contour a track, and have since taken to the practice of lowering the fader/signal, and using a parmetric eq. Compression gets added via a paralelle bus.

Reaplugs includes a nice multiband, plus some other nice plugs.

I've used on a few things, with pretty decent results.
