Who's going to be watching should be an interesting one. The new team Brawn GP appear to be the team to beat although I cant see that happening, certainly not for a whole season, and Lewis Hamilton and the McLaren team seem to be on the back foot this year but I can't imagine that will last a whole season either.

Me indeed!

And ya, they do look like they are going to be coming on stronger then anticipated. I'm really surprised with all the new rule changes that of all the teams they came out on top.

I think Rubins may get his chance, and by all means he is more then capable.

Although being a long time Ferrari fan I will be cheering for Brawn GP as well.

Massa really needs to step it up this year and hold it together and not worry so much about Kimi getting the spotlight.

I'm glad Speed Channel carries the races live. Although it sucks being up in the middle of the night it is worth it for some of the races last year. And should be this year by the looks of it. The Aus GP is on at like 3:30 int he afternoon here but qualifying is on at 1:30AM on Sat. I find that odd.

I can't wait to see the new USF1 team come out next year though. With Peter Windsor and the like that should be another team coming out strong.

I still like my Nascar but F1 is always nail biting to watch.

I'll will be watching as well. Although I think F1 is going downhill a little bit with Bernie and Max in charge.

Yeah I don't see Mclaren being stuck at the back all season. I would expect them to get it together pretty quickly.

It should be interesting to see if there is more overtaking with the new aero rules. The cars don't look quite as good, but maybe it will make for better racing.

The USF1 team should have some pretty good American drivers to choose from. I'd like to see Marco Andretti sign on and race F1.

Noize, I think the race is 1:30AM Eastern on Sat. At least that's what I thought they said on the commercial.

I like Peter Windsor but in all honesty I can't see USGPE being much more than and over budgeted, under-engineered, overhyped and underperforming shambles to start with. Particularly if they stick with US domestic racers who have a terrible record in F1. They need to get to race in Europe at a younger age to really get anywhere.

Suprised to see Williams at the top of the time sheets but Williams, Brawn and Toyota are all there. Seems these trick diffusers they have are really making a difference. Ferrari are right there too!

Everyone else appears to basically be nowhere.

Odd thing is that the minute they leave the start grid everything could change in a heartbeat.

I have a feeling its going to come down to the guys that can actually drive the car without all the computer aid like Rubins, Felipe, Kimi and a few of the older guys will end up on the top.

But I could be wrong too.

According to Bernie next year two other new teams will also join besides USGPE. That would be great cause more cars more happiness..

It's almost certain that the Malaysia GP this Sunday will be a wet race, it's always rainy after 5PM and this week it's been monsooning there. They expect to last after the weekend.

The predictions are that the alt. diffuser teams (the ones who used their brains the best) will be among the fastest cause of the downforce type of circuit. Also it's expected that Williams will be showing their real pace there (they had bad pistop and bad luck in Aussie). Also Williams and Toyota are planning to put their KERS in asap, with Williams the only F1 team having a mechanical /flywheel one.

Ya, its gonna be on at 3:30am here. Aus. was a good race for the most part. Although I was really stressed to see Ferrari just shank like that. But it was cool to see Brawn GP get 1 and 2 on the podium. Hamilton simply got lucky if you ask me.

Ferrari has their KERS in and working. I know both Masa and Kimi were looking forward to it but it was to no avail.

We'll see what this weekend brings now.

I'm looking forward to near the end of the season at Singapore. They are tweaking the track for more passing op's and it should be good.

But I digress.

I'll happily wait to see what happens this weekend.

Was a cracking Race. Brawn have so much more pace than the other teams. 'cos in all honesty they made a efw mistakes themselves and still kept it together! Its not just down to the diffuser.

I thought Lewis raced a good race. Got the most out of his car, kept it going as fast as he could and didn't make any mistakes. He was rewarded for it.

Malaysia will expose the McLarens lack of downforce though!

3:30am? Wow it's gonna be tough to stay awake for that one. I may have to just catch the replay.

Looks like Hamilton got DQ'd for misleading the race stewards in Australia. Hmm...I'm not sure what's up with that. That's the one thing I dislike about F1. The race results are never final after the race is over. There are always protests, appeals, and court hearings to determine the race results.

It should definitely be interesting if it rains in Malaysia. I'd expect Brawn to do well again.

JDOD, you didn't catch the results right off then. McLaren fudged Hamilton into 3rd. Its a pty as well because Trulli does not deserve to be drug through the mud like this.

Anyway, the downforce thing is going to be real important. I think Ferrari and Brawn will have it down. Not sure who will be close. But Ferrari will probably screw up again.

I plan on napping and just getting up at 3:00 am. I'm usually up around 4:00 or 4:30 unless I consume a bit.

Yeah, I heard about Lewis' penalty yesterday. **** isn't it.

He was actually allowed to pass Trulli under the safety car 'cos Trulli had left the circuit. It would appear that Lewis didn't realise he was allowed to do this so when Trulli rejoined the circuit he let Trulli past to regain his postion. When Trulli got penalised Lewis should have spoken up right then and told the truth.

Sure it would have made him look like a tit for misunderstanding the rules and costing himself a point. But now he looks like and underhand lying tit.

I still like Lewis though. He's one of the fastest out there, certainly the most agressive and exciting to watch. Last weekends cockup aside, I think he's on the whole a pretty decent bloke too.

Sepang Malaysia is on at 9AM here, which is just perfect for a good breakfast and a cup of tea after a few beers on Saturday

Would appear that it wasn't actually Lewis that tried to cheat here

Ya, I've read several tidbits today and that is one. It seems as though they are looking for a scapegoat to cover up all the horse play. And its not just to blame on one person. I've caught some of the radio bits that are in question and Lewis, the team head and several other key higher up pit figures who's names are never mentioned are conversing as to how to keep this under the table on the passing.

So I think McLaren as a team, not really Hamilton, are digging themselves in deeper.

We'll probably never know though as FIA has a way of covering up all the dodgy stuff and making it go away quickly.
