Hi all,

This may be a stupid question, but, I was wondering something......
If I were to use a cordless/remote keyboard and or mouse, would the RF signals cause any sort of interference with audio recording ?

Especially if PC was in same, immediate area as mic ?

Im a newbie to this stuff....

Mic cable and USB cable, have shielding to them. So, any interference would be at an extreme minimum.

If you are hearing a hum or a buzz in your recordings. It could be the way your computer grounds the motherboard.

Sometimes a ground lift on your AC cord going to your computer will help. But, this is not the best way of solving a problem of this nature.

If you have a mixer in-line with your pre, then an isolation transformer will do the trick.

I havent built the system yet.

I am in the planning stages and looking at different configurations of equipment.

Was curious as to how sensitive a mic might be to RF from said keyboard or mouse.

I would say Zero. RF really doesn't effect mic's all that much. It's when you have a high current signal close by that causes interference.

do you love a parade?

Depending on how cheap you go you may end up hearing static noize from your computer. Like say if you just plugged into the motherboards onboard audio driver in the back. Wireless devices shouldnt be a prob.
