I've tried to record my vocals + some backing on piano - there are still some errors, but I wonder what's your overall musical/mix impression. Tweaked a bit with Melodyne plugin! :)

Edit: I've also deciced I could use this topic to show you today's recording - it's pointless, made for mood and for mixing exercise. ;)

Maybe one of the errors you're referring too, but you can hear the faders go up to late when you start playing and singing. Did you play and sing at the same time? If so, why not do it separately?
The "B" in "Beautiful" and the "p" in "Spacious" have noticeable pops. The "s" at the end of "spacious" needs some serious taming too.

Is there a way of removing such pops/taming unnecessary noices after they've been recorded?

You can try, by zooming in close on the waveform and deleting part of the transient. I've done it before.

But a better solution is a pop filter for your mic.

You should have or be able to find a De-Esser to help with the sibilance, but as Herb stated the pops you will have to tweak a bit by working on the peaks with an EQ or such. I've had good luck fixing simple small problem's like that with a multiband comp.

You can find som free De-Esser's at www.kvraudio.com

Sounds like its all there and in place for the most part. I'd be curious to see you carry that out to some length eventually.
