Interface for recording bass???

I am working on my home studio with a tight budget... I am not a bass player but I would like to have decent bass lines on the songs I record... (my style is blues rock). I have been thinking of a affordable way to record bass; I own a fender jazz bass and I am planning on connecting it to my Tascam using Behringer V-Amp pro... It looks like a cheap solution but I am wondering if I will get decent sounds with it. Are there any other suggestions??? Can anyone who has had experience with Benringer V Amp Pro can share their experience with me??? Here is a link to the unit I am planning on buying...

Is the bass on your song "over rated" recorded by just plugging it into your guitar pedal? (by the way the song sounds really cool)

I just got done doing the bass lines for our demo using a Lice 6 PODxt, and just like the guitar channels in it... WOW.

Luvin' that 'lil box!

You can find 'em pretty discounted on Craigs List, and E-Bay, etc...

I posted some results in my profile under Drum and Bass-DI. There was no eqing done to the bass track which was recorded through the usb of the PODxt. Bass was a Peavey Grindbass-4... w/my buddy Drew on it. It did get a dose of compression, though.

I don'no... sounds good to me. Lem'me know what you think of the bass capture.(Is it still referred to as a capture, if the amp, speakers, and air are modeled?)

Its a good solid sound. Nice attack sound, very smooth but there. Almost has a jazz sort of flavor to it.

Thanks Noize. I was thinking of adding a bit more growl to it with the VC-64, but other than that, should be an easy mix fot this puppy.

Yep, that would do it. Or you can try the TL64 (tube leveler) it has a grungy bass preset that works fairly well. You can fine tune it to give you the sound you want starting from the preset.
