how do i record distortion?i

whenever i try to record distortion it sound bad once i play it back.why is this happening when i get pretty good results with the clean channel?

are you distorting via software of micing a distorted amp.

like BH said, you have a load of questions going on in all directions, you'd be well served by slowing down and taking care of one thing at a time.

Do some searching on the forums here. This topic has been covered very extensively, so search around for tips on recording distorted guitars. If the 1/2 dozen or so long threads that cover this topic leave something to be desired, then come back with any more specific questions you have.

You're asking HUGE questions here. There are no simple answers to these questions. The best thing to do at your skill level is read and experiment.
