hi im not that new to recording but my birthday is coming up and im getting around 1 grand and i was wondering if anyone had a good setup that they would recommend me buying.

i am a rapper and i already have a midi keyboard and a brand new computer with 2 gigs of RAM and an external hard drive with 200 gigs

i just need a good interface/mixer and a microphone for mostly vocals with studio quality, if possible, sound.

i dont play any instruments i just record vocals
any help would be appreciated

Man, I don't know what interface I would get if only needing one channel. But you could get a very decent pre-amp and a nice mic ta boot.

Hey snoop, are you running a Mac or a PC? That might help the direction we point you for an interface and software.

I guess you could keep the interface very simple then which would allow you to spend the rest on a good pre amp and mic.

Do you prefer to have the interface and pre amp in one unit or a little higher end pre amp to use with the mic?
