That topic didn't sound right at all... but I assure you it's not what you think it is...
Last night when my band was playing, my guitar player was complaining that he couldn't get his amp to sound good. One of the guys in the other band said "Turn down the suck knob." It was pretty funny. After the show he told us we could do even better by turning up the "sweetness knob" on the bass amp. I think he was drunk.

Mar 23, 2003 08:42 am That is an old "The Far Side" comic entitled "Raymonds last day as the band sound technician" it had a picture of Raymond turning up the "suck" on the mixer whilst the band is getting bottles and such chucked at them.
I have a copy of the comic somewhere (as any sound tech in my generation does) I will try to find it and scan it for all to enjoy.

EVERY BAND in my peers group has that stuck on their sound board.

And Blue, thanx for the link. I printed it out and its pasted on the door alongside some of my kids other art.
Now I remember that cartoon dB, the last band I was with had it pasted on the door to the studio space we rented. People would stand outside and listen just to see if we did suck. It was worth a lot of laughs.
