Quick questio I am mixing my album called RADIO THRILLER and I'm wondering, after mixing song, do I bus all the instruments to one fader and the vocals to another and compress them or do I mix it down the way I have it and start mastering it I'm so CONFUSED lol

Jan 22, 2009 02:03 pm You do what you need to do. No one can tell you what your ears are telling you to do.
At some point, the entire mix is going to have to go to a single (usually stereo) buss. What it goes through before than point is up to the engineer and what the mix is asking for.

Jan 22, 2009 06:31 pm Yup, get the mix sounding exactly as you want it using whatever process that works. Then mixdown to a stereo file for "mastering".
