problems with Pro Tools M-Audio and Tone Port UX2

Is the Line6 Toneport UX2 compatible with Pro Tools M-Audio 7.4? When I bought the toneport it said it was compatible with protools, but when i start protools it says no m-audio interface is detected and it shuts down. Is there a work around solution for this problem or do i need to buy an m-audio interface?

As far as I know it should be. ITs just another interface as far as PT is concerned.

I've never come across anyone having that issue as of yet.

How did you get the PT 7.4 version, with an M-Audio interface?

I originally bought the firewire 410 with my version of pt, but it has gone bad over the years. So i bought the toneport ux2 to replace the 410 and now pt wont even start up.

Well, the M-Audio firewire 410 never came with PT 7.4. It was only bundled with Ableton Live Lite. The firewire 410 is a pretty recent addition to the M-Audio line as well.

So I am guessing wherever you got the PT 7.4 version it is looking for a key that does not exist any longer due to some odd happening. I would contact Digidesign directly to see about getting a license key for it to make it active for use. That is the only reason the type of software will not start up and give you that type of message.

thanks everyone for your input. I figured that what geoff said was true but was hoping for an alternative solution. Oh well back to the music store.

on another note:
no disrespect noize2u but I bought the firewire 410 bundled with pt7.0, ilok key, pair of bx5a, drum & bass rig and keyboard rig from guitar center 2 years ago. Dont know if it was special promo but it was a pretty sweet deal.

thanks again

2maxx, GCV may have built their own bundle with it. But M-Audio never packaged it with the 410.

What you got was a GC bundle, not even promoted by M-Audio at all.
