Roland's site still has the TD3 electronic drum listed; but the wierd thing is that guitar center, musiciansfriend, samash etc don't sell them anymore... Are they pulling that product off the market?? Are they planning on coming back with a more updated same price range model? Does anyone have any insights on this subject?

It is seeing an upgrade actually. While the brain will still be the TD3 the kit is not going to be around any longer. The brain will be added to a lot better kit.

I' cant find any details on a cheap version of the kit anywhere at the moment. But if one pops up it will be on the Roland site first off I'm sure.

I guess if you are interested in one I would contact the Roland US folk's and inquire with them as to what is going on.

I saw the kit somewhere, to me it looked like the old TD6 kit with the TD3 brain @ $999. The $795 kit is now the HD Lite or something like that.

Ya, the TD-3SV is the entry level kit now.

I think he is referring to that tiny little set up that was out earlier, around mid 2008 that simply unfolded and used the TD3 brain.

Otherwise, I did notice that MF and a few others are not selling the module alone any more. Kinda weird I suppose.

I was kind of thinking of buying a TD3, but since it is being improved I think I should wait for the new one to get a better kit for the same price :)

I just saw this on their website. I guess this is the one that will be replacing the td3... I hope it will have the same price :)

Yep, that is the one I found as well. But oddly they are going to keep the TD3 brain around for use with other kits, or as an option for others.

But that is the slim little kit similar to the original TD3 one.
