sounds good. nice balance, nice detail, i wouldn't be ashamed of that.

sounds like a computer kick drum, it has a machine gun sound on the double kicks.

Not sure if you wanted that tidbit, but I figured I'd throw that out there anyway =).

Thanks! Yeah i might have been a little extreme with the kick eq'ing, but other than that it sounded ok? I think it might need a little more bottom end for punch.

Hey, welcome to HRC first off.

I fixed your link as well. You had it going directly to the download button on your music page.

Anyway, pretty tight guitar sounds for sure. I liked them. I'm with pjk on the drums though for sure. The kick was a bit on the thin side. What program are you using for drums?

giving the drums a git more punch in the mix will really help it for sure.

As for the rest of it. I liked it, curious to hear what it would sound like as a finished piece for sure.

Thanks!! Its addictive drums. I tried outputing the seperate pieces of the kit to different channels on the mixer in reaper and tried eq'ing it from there. Not a problem adding more bass on the kick, or should it add it too all drums in general? Basically it was just a mess around song with some riff ideas.

Oh ya, you can do that for sure. I do the same really. Sending each part of the kit to a separate channel to be treated differently as it needs it. Then they all go to a single output buss which I can then add a single compressor if needed to beef it up before it hits the master buss.

If you are going to mess about with it a bit more then ya, maybe beef up the kick, snare and tom's all on their own channel then as I stated send it to a drum buss if you can and give it a bit of compression before it hits the main output.

Nicely done. The kick and the rest of the drums sound pretty good now for sure.

I see you took a little of the high mids off the guitars as well. That seemed to get the drums a bit more presence for sure.

Thanks, I put yet another version on thats a little smoother and not quite as loud. Not sure which one i like better now. Im currently hunting for a sample replacement, as after listening to it a buch of times, the snare sound just isnt sitting right with me.

I guess I'm kinda partial to the second mix. I think you brought the overall level down too far on the third mix here. Although it is still pretty clear.

I guess now after listening a few times I can agree that there is something odd about the snare. It's not hideous by any means, just like you stated. Not sure if it is the sound that should be there.
