[DISCLAIMER: I do not like tribute bands. It seems like such a waste of god-given talent to spend your your life emulating someone else. I don't like cover bands either. They're just tribute bands that are afraid to commit...and I'm in a cover band!]

Holy Crap! I see/hear dead people! This Beatle Tribute Band called "The Fab Four" are dead-ringers (pun intended) for the real thing. That guy doing Paul has the look, the mannerisms and the VOICE! I've just WASTED about an hour watching their videos on YouTube, like this one:

They where pretty good. I worked with them in Reading PA. The other that is really good is 1964. Just like the Fab Four, but they only do from the early era of the Beatles.

The other that we work with regularly, is The Fab Faux. That is the one with Will Lee and the rest of the NYC session musicians. That one, they don't try to look or at like the Beatles, but, they reproduce the music 100%. They are really good at that.

It's sad but true there is a market for it. A band that plays a wide set of covers does well at a gig with a mixed audience but to get people to the gigs a type of music is more marketable. Young people are very open minded to new unheard songs maybe due to the thousands of songs they have access to so there is hope yet.

Oddly Jim you got me sucked into watching them for too long. I did stumble across and odd one though with I do believe the same Paul guy, only he was playing right handed instead of lefty. It takes minute to get to the actual playing but bear with it.

Otherwise, ya these guys are probably the best of the lot. Nothing against Well Lee and the boys, but the show is also a big part if your going to do the Beatles the right way.

Not bad, I still think the best Beatle tribute band I've seen/heard is Rain. Personally I think tribute bands and cover bands are fine as long as they are decent, keeps the music alive and introduces people to bands/music they might not otherwise have given any thought too.

When you get right down too it, if you want to earn a living in a band, unless you're one of the few who can write music that others want to hear, you're good, and also get lucky you either become a cover band/tribute band or you get a 'real job' :-D

"It's sad but true there is a market for it."

Agreed. We had a Pink Floyd cover band come to town and the local classic rock station was busting a nut over it, but when the REAL Helix and the REAL Lou Gramm were in town, it was like, "meh, they're past their prime, we'll give it five minutes of air time".

I'm pretty sure that The Fab Four was the tribute band I saw at Disneyland some years ago. The Beatles were my daughter's favourite band at the time (still are, a bit, but she was like 10 at the time). They were superb. It was dead on, and the sound was incredible. I'm sure it's what you would have heard from the originals (but without all the screaming).

It wasn't Ausie Floyd was it?

They are the only Floyd cover band that gets it spot on. And the shows are a perfect recreation of the original Floyd shows.
