Hi,
I was on here yesterday asking about firewire mixers. thanks very much for responses was very helpfull. My next question is.....

My soundcard is a Texas Instruments TAS3004: it has 2 channels.

Does this mean I can only ever record 2 tracks simultaneously? also it rings of "my first soundcard" is this the case??

Yes, this is true. Your application can only record as many channels of input as it receives.
