I am running vista with a realtek AC 97 on board sound card, 4 gigs ram. I plugged my quarter inch jack from my boss gt-8 to the mic in on the back of my motherboard/sound card. I can hear sound. But when i open up sonar 7 and choose a track i see no sound level. i went though the driver configuration and it said they were all ok. Tryed ever level on my input on the mixer but nothing, no levels and can't record. I'm new to home recording so i could use some help. thanks chris

What input options does the track you choose have? Have you tried them all?

I am sure you know this, but Realtek isn't exactly a "recording" sound card...but still, this should work.

Oh, no line in even. Any of those should result in some sound. What type of driver are you using? Have you tried ASIO4ALL? If not, you may want to try that. Some have great luck with it, some not so much. It's a decent driver that provides generic ASIO drivers to stock cards like yours.

Have you armed the actual track for recording?
