Oct 24, 2008 11:15 pm Do you have a sample of the music in question we can hear?
It is much easier to give get and idea from that and then give you a direction to go in.

Oct 28, 2008 07:17 pm Well there are a couple of things you can do with what I have heard so far.
I'll assume your making your own beats at the moment. I liked the intro, although it could be leveled up a bit, which will come with mastering. The vocal parts were plenty loud and maybe a bit too out front. I would possibly bring the level of the main vocal down a little and give it just the smallest bit of reverb. Preferably a small room type reverb.
The snare from the drums is also a bit loud and could use a bit of reverb as well after you bring the level down a little bit. It also is lacking a bit in the upper mid of the EQ. Maybe give it the tiniest boost around 5 to 6 k and see if that gives it a bit more life.
There is one tone that is constant throughout the piece that is a bit too constant. I would try and bring that level down a bit as well, maybe have it come out loud like every 8th or even better every 16th beat or so.
Just a few thoughts, maybe coolo will catch this and give a bit of advice.
I have to say, interesting accent as well. Your IP suggests New York, but the accent is definitely not NY.
