Hey everybody.
I'm looking for a decent Large condenser mic, cause it's time to improve somethings in my room and I'm wondering, can you give me an advice?
I'm looking at this 3 mics, 3 different brands, almost same prices, all same good reviews and I'd like to know if any of you guys has had any type of experience with this mics, and if so, could you give me your advice and opinion? thanks!
these are the candidates:
M-Audio Nova
Audio Technica AT2020
Studio Projects B3 v2

Oct 21, 2008 03:40 pm I would lean toward either the AT2020 or the B3 v2. They are a bit above the M-Audio mic.
The B3 would probably give you a bit more bang for the buck though in all honestly. It is a multi pattern unit with 2 pad levels. Although the AT2020 is a tad warmer sounding, having the multi pattern capability of the B3 might be of more benefit to you in the end.
Oct 22, 2008 05:05 pm hey Noize2u, how could it be useful to using an omnidirectional pattern?
what situations or type of recordings use this?
Oct 22, 2008 05:19 pm Any situation where you want to capture more of what's actually happening - More room, less proximity, etc.
Screamo vocals, guitar amps, drum overheads, acoustic stringed instruments, brass, choirs and/or gang vocals...
It depends on how the sound you're capturing needs to fit into the mix.
