I'm having trouble mixing my guitars. They seem to get lost within a mix. If i listen to the likes of korn, their guitars seem to have their own place and are totally untouchable within the mix.
I've been playing around with knocking them out of phase, modulation, and a few other bits but i can't seem to get them pronounced at all.
Any ideas?

Oct 19, 2008 01:22 pm It's all in the EQ. I use what's called subtractive EQing. Or so it's been called. But it's notching the frequency out of the other instruments that the guitars are most apparent. Cutting a space in the picture for them, if you will.

Oct 19, 2008 09:38 pm oh yeah Tad, most definatley, especially when setting up the amp.
little trick i've been using lately and it works sweet, with the reverb on guitars, use a short one with no predelay and pan the verb "left for the left guitars and right for the right ones" so its not going across the drums.
i do this coz i use different verbs(short and longer ones) on the drums. its really makes it clearer let me tell ya. Gives both the drums and guitars their own space.
