Vocal FX - Which Order ?

Hi

For hardware I have a VoicePrism Plus, (which also has some basic good fx),and a JoeMeek compressor, as well as Waves Fx Plug-ins with my DAW. Which order should I send the Vocal signal? Right now I send first through the VoicePrism then the JoeMeek compressor before recording, then plugins added after recording. Then I usually mixdown entire song and master with T-Racks. This usually works well for the music, but I would like the vocals to have more presence like they do on store bought CDs where you don't notice the fx too much, just sounds good!
Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've done it both ways to be honest. I do prefer compressing before FX though as compression can have an odd effect on the FX.

Personally though I do not record FX on much going into the DAW anymore. I add them after in the track. If you are deadset on using the Voice Prism you can always fly the vocal back out and record the processed vocal to another track.

But yes, for most music I don't like to hear a lot of FX on the vocal. But that is personal choice there.
