A friend and me are building a recording studio, he bought a Control 24 interface from the user BASEMENTDEALER, when my friend sent the payment (3,500 dlls + shipping) the seller said that he was going to ship on monday, today is almost thursday and he doesnt reply to any e-mails. Anyone knows him or have bought anything from him on e-bay?. If anyone knows him please let me know....

Thanks

You need to report this to the admins at ebay right away or you will not get any satisfaction out of them if you take to long.

But with a name like that I would not have trusted him.

Im sorry his actual name is Thebasementdealer (i forgot the THE part) his page is the following myworld.ebay.com/thebasementdealer/

What freaks me out is that he has 102 feedback 100% positive, but the thing is that he always had a hostile attitude in his communication, he even sent a dispute on e-bay because he said my friend didnt payed after 2-3 days the auction was closed, he wanted to pay but the guy didnt wanted to give his info for the bank transfer, after a lot of e-mails he finally gave my partner the bank account and he deposited the money.

Although if he doesnt reply by tomorrow, my friend is going to call e-bay as you sugest.

i've bought a fair bit off ebay and have had a similar problem in the past.
some dudes just dont get back to you in a hurry, or for a while in alot of cases.

the last 2 things i bought and had to chase up,was where they were took too long to get back to me, but i eventually found out that they worked away alot, and/or they were simply not very responsible.
in the end they got back to me.

hopefully its as simple as that for you.

what i have found with ebay though, if ya have an issue they pretty much dont wanna know about it. they just give you the protocol thing.

I had a guy slack on an ampeg I purchased for quite some time. I finally sent him a "I hate to do it, but I must report this" and he had it shipped the next day. He was just a slacker and no harm was done.

Sometimes these guys use bogus accounts to give a few positive feedbacks. His positive feedback comes from users who also have quite a bit of good feedback on expensive items so I would assume this is not the case and he is just being slow about it. I'd give him a "I'm going to report this" e-mail to see if he responds and then proceed if not.

Did your friend use pay pal? As a buyer, I would always advise using pay pal! Pay pal puts the onus on the seller to prove he shipped the item, or else they give the buyer the money back and take the money from the seller. However, the buyer has to make a complaint within a certain amount of time (I don't remember what it is, but it's important, so I would look it up). After the first complaint is made, pay pal just acknowledges the complaint was made, and then gives another pre set amount of time for the buyer and seller to resolve the issue between themselves. If there is still no resolution, and the buyer informs them of such, they will pay the money back to the buyer, and try to take back the money from the seller (they have some tricks here, but I don't want to take the time to spell them out).

Having listened to a lot of pay pal support calls, I think they have even ended up screwing some sellers who shipped but didn't follow the exact rules, and got scammed by people who received the merch but claimed not to have, and then got their money back and kept the merch (holy run on sentence).

Ok after a lot of e-mails and no replies from this guy, my friend contacted the local police and they forced the guy to send the item, but it was a mess, we are in Mexico you know... Lets see how it arrives!!
