OK, I have a dumb question for you as well.

Being that the Lexicon, and the Behringer, already have mic pre's. Are you looking for a high end pre? Or, are just asking if you need one to get into your computer?

If you are asking the latter, and I don't think that you are. The answer is no. You already have them.

If your looking for a high end one. The others will be along soon to direct you to one that will help.

if you're not looking at getting too high end, you're (IMO) better off sticking with what you have and ajusting the gain stage in and try the pres in the Omega and the Beri. EQ after you record , just try and get a good clean, and clear signal. I don't EQ or rarly EQ before I mix .

most recording apps will start at 0dbs. when your setting up your signal adjust the (say you're just using the Omega) volume knob on the omega and monitor it in Cubase (once you arm the track) and try and get it as hot(loud, strong) as you can with out it cliping ( before it goes into the red) . If you do that I can almost garentee you will not go above 0db's and you should have more than enough head room. I'm not a cubase expert by any means.

first off , we;re all here to learn and help and have a laugh once in a while. It does help to fill out your profile to know what all you have and what you're planning to do with it. if you're a one man band and don't intend to record outhers in a full blown studio, you don't need a whole lot of outboard gear IMO. since you have a mixer and a sound card, i'd say a few good condenor mics and a good dynamic mic are a good starting point. A good pair of monitors(which you have) and headphones. after that it all about what you're doing , do you need a midi keyboard? are you recording electric guitar and how do you want to record it ? there are a lot of things to think about and you can end up like a lot of us obsessed with gear and not using and getting to know what you already have. I'm guilty of beeing a gear whore. but when i had to move from my studio in CA last november and move to Guam i had to sell a lot of stuff or put it inot storage. I record full groups and that what i set out to do with my set up .
