I could watch that movie almost every night and not get bored of it.

Its one of the greatest put on's of all time.

Speaking of Micheal McKean. Has anyone ever listened to one of his early put on bands. Lenny and the Squigtones?

That has to have been one of my all time favorites. If I get some time I'll crank a track off the vinyl and put up a bit for you to check out.

OK I found a couple of the odd video's on you tube. This first one was the first time doing this tune. There is a much better version as well on youtube and the album.

This one is another odd one from the album. Its a bad rip with no video you you get the hummer of it. Micheal is actually a very good guitar player. I actually saw them live as well.

On this page as well if you got to youtube there is one called Foreign Legion of Love that is very funny as well.

Wow, haven't seen these since they originally aired.

And I am with you noize, I never get tired of seeing that movie. My wife bought me the collectors DVD for my birthday when they re released it. Love the bonus scenes. Makes it a whole different movie.

Let's go back, way back... Same here, haven't seen Lenny and the Squigtones since it aired. What year was it? 1979?

BTW Rob, the video in your first post is no longer available it says.

Ah nuts! It was suppose to the video of Hell Hole. One of my favorites from the movie. I can't seem to get it back.

I'll have to see if I can get The Flower People instead.

Hell Hole is great, Rock n Roll Creation is still my fav song of their's...and thats what's cool, it's a funny movie, but the music is actually pretty good...Stone 'enge, great, big bottom all rocking the bass, good stuff, sex farm, great song...

Yep 1979 was when they first aired that song Night after Night and then a couple months later they played another tune on the show and the record company offered to make a live record of them. It was great.

Spinal Tap, my fav is either Big Bottom or Hell Hole. Stone Henge comes in high as well. They are actually all memorable though indeed.

McKean and Guest are both good players, McKean being the better of the 2 though. I wish McKean would have known Guest though for the Lenny and the Squigtones thing. That would have been even better.

Yeah, I'm right there with you noize. If they would of had like Sha na na, or someone else that fit the era that were doing would of been great.

Hey dB. I think your words of wisdom from Spinal Tap has a mistake in it. Your says "There is a fine line between stupid and clever."

It's suppose to be "There is a fine line between clever and... and stupid"

Ya, Sha Na Na would have been cool. I think he actually got a couple of the guys from Stuff, who were formed from killer session player's. I think a few did time with Paul Schaffer during the SNL days then.

Anybody ever see the movie "A Mighty Wind"? A lot of the same people were involved with that as with "Spinal Tap". It's a great send up of the sixties folk music boom. I'm too young to have lived it, but my musical tastes are deeply rooted in that music. Very funny in a Spinal Tap-ish sort of way.

But ya, your young alright. If you say so.

Ha! Alright, so maybe I am an old fart! :-) But I was just a wee lad when the Sixties Folk Boom was happening! JFK was President when I was born (but not for long...)

Ya, I was home sick from school the day JFK wasn't pres anymore. I still remember seeing it happen on TV.

I may have to go out and buy A Mighty Wind now that you keep bringing it up. Just so I can add it along with Spinal Tap.
