Let's say I do a take of 16 channels of drums, bass, whatever... In Cubase.
But, my buddy with Digital Performer wants to do the mix, edit, etc... How do I mix export each individual track without soloing it, then, export. Next track, solo, export?
Is there a way to get all 16 of the channels to...
You know, I got point and figured it out... Ever have those days?

Jul 30, 2008 01:04 pm The tracks should already be WAV files. Just go to the folder that contains the wav files and forget about Cubase.
Jul 30, 2008 01:49 pm Haha... That's the conclusion I came to when I was writing that...
I hit my head at work yesterday... Can you tell?

Jul 30, 2008 10:00 pm Nice thing in Sonar is it does intelligent naming of the audio files you you know exactly what they are. And ti will also do a full export of each track individually.
I think Cubase can do that as well, if it is a newer version.

Jul 30, 2008 11:51 pm Yeah i think in cubase u dont need to solo, u just have to select the tracks and then choose something along the lines of mix down tracks.
If u pull the files right out of the cache they wont have any automation or plugins u put in, so theres that fact, but if ur friend only needs raw files then yes its probably the easiest just to pull them out of the folder.
Jul 31, 2008 01:20 am Another way I was thinking is to freeze them. And then once they are frozen and placed in that new location, you could send him the affected tracks. Right?

Aug 01, 2008 12:57 pm Well not really. They will be frozen but not available in the wav form with effects.
You would still need to export the single effected track as it is to get the effected wav form.

Aug 01, 2008 03:01 pm I think that depends on your DAW Cynic. Audition does exactly that, it mixes down a file to a .wav with all effects applied and then references that in the background, I do not think that is the norm though. Could be wrong.

Aug 05, 2008 01:47 pm I'm pretty sure that's what it's supposed to do since In sonar, when you freeze a track, it says "mixing down audio".
That means it's rendering it. So I don't know.
