Im laying the drums for a Metallica song and im getting to the end of it.
i've only just realized, i was ever so close to running outta record time.

I havent ripped thru the cubase book as yet, but does anyone know if you can cahnge/extend the amount of record time available?

Cheers.
oh, buy the way the song i think is around 8:50.

as far as I know the amount of record time available is limited only by your hard drive space...might be time for a good spring cleaning of your hard drive.

Yeah, I was thinking the same as dB...

We managed to fill about 125gig of space by recording the last six months of rehearsals, and had to mix-down, and clean 'em out for the DAW to run smoothly again, but thats alot of recording... you shouldn't have that issue with 230gig left in your drive .

Are you running a lite version of Cubase that perhaps has a hardset limit or something like that?

na, using Cubase 4. only just got it about 2 months ago.

could 10 mins be the max per song you reckon?

really i shouldnt need that long for a song, but what about someone doing a vid or something?
will have a geez today and see what the story is i guess.
maybe its just a setting.

Ya, like dB stated. There may be a limit set on the space it will use. You should however be able to set it to a higher amount if you wish.
