Hi, I am still having dramas connecting my Behringer mic200 to a Behringer uca202 externeal sound card!

The uca202 inputs are 2 RCA's one white and one red. It says that the inputs nees to be unbalanced.

The mic200 has 2 outputs, EITHER a XLR or a TRS that can be balanced/unbalanced.

To connect the two I used the following cable:

TRS-203 Send and return cable which has a TRS connector at one end and RCA's at the other which have the following written on them: tip (ornage plug) and ring (grey) - can anyone tell me if this is the correct lead for connecting these two devices??? - I have read an article on balanced/unbalanced but it didnt really exlain what it actually means - can anyone actually explain what this means???

Any help would be great as I am getting mega frustrated!!!!

No that cable will not work correctly unless you only insert it part of the way. But you still stand a chance of shorting the mic200 output section out.

You need a simply 1/4" mono to RCA cable. Then simply plug the 1/4" end into the output of the mic200 and the RCA end into the input of the UCA202.

You will probably find this type of cable in a stereo pair set up which is fine. Simply use just one of the leads. It will have one red and one gray end or similar. They are available in single cable type versions as well. I think even Radio Shack or that type of store should have them. But if you have a Guitar Center or the like they would also carry something like that.

Balanced connections use 3 conductors, 1 for the positive and 1 for the negative phase of the signal the 3rd one is for the ground. This ensures maximum protection against hum and interference.

Unbalanced connections use 2 conductors, 1 for the signal and the other for the ground. They are much more subject to hum and interference than balanced connections.

Hope this answers your question.

I think it is a 1/4" mono to RCA stereo.
