I posted a song in my profile that I bounced to tape, granted just to 2 tracks on a Studer 2" 24track, so it may not be as punchy as say a 2track 1" or 1/4"

We're releasing the album free online in the next month, thought we hit tape then master. Any thoughts?

Had to listen to the intro a few times to get used to it. But after enjoying the complete song several times, I truly got to appreciate the intro.

This song is solid as a rock! Very well played and recorded. It has all the right ingredients and I really really love the long fade out.

Hit potential imho. :-)

Thanks, it's off the album that, whenever i give it a release, it blows past it so i'll just say it's coming soon...

Just some minor adjustments are needed then i can close this chapter and move on to new stuff. I think the rythm guitars are a little too woofy. Cutting some of the lows might clean up the bottom end a bit... guitars kinda lose their attack...

Sorry, but the long outtro isn't going to make the cut in it's current form, however, the original beat comes back in then fades out.

Thanks again Nightcap! Glad you like it!

Noize,

I'm embarrassed to say, but this song has been a round a while... i think that I had even posted a very early version of it on here years ago... so you've probably heard the song before, of course it has been re-recorded twice since then.

yes, it has been years since i started working on this project and it has never seen the light of day. I'm glad to be getting this album out! Finally after lineup changes, new gear, major projects taking up my time, server crashes and back burning my own stuff...

It's my own personal "chinese democracy"

While it does sound familiar it is a vague familiarity. I'm diggin this version for sure. Ray came trotting in as well asking who this is, that is a good sign. He only comes in when he really likes something. He did make me play it again as well.

Kind of has a very cool Linkin Park vibe to it, but a more original sound. Thats a compliment by the way as I really dig Linkin Park.

I'm trying to recall the version you posted, and I do think you are right. It was several years ago at least. I don't remember it being quite this heavy.

Either way, I really like being able to hear the brass and high end of the drum on a heavy piece like this. It adds some cool shimmer to it. I liked the guitars and synth parts as well. The intro was great as well.

Either way it is very cool. I think the bounce to tape might have added some decent saturation to it. It does have a slightly saturated sound, not overdone by any means.

And absolutely no need to be embarrassed about long time projects. I've got tons of them.
