Hey guys,

I have uploaded the last two songs that are part of my school project. They are called "Don't Bother" and "Drive Away". You will have to use your imagination on this as I have not included the violin track or the harmony vox etc.
It is exciting to see this project come together.

I'm liking Drive Away right now. I know its early in the mix but its got a kind of really cool live bar room sound to it. The song itself kind of reminds me a tiny bit of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airman in their early days. Although his voice brings another bands sound to mind but I can't think of the name at the moment. Anyway, nice start on this one for sure. Is there going to be any violin on this one? I can hear were it would be if they do, she'd be ripping it up especially on this one.

Can't wait to hear were this one goes.

The second one is a good start. Basic blues waling bassline going on. But nice tight drummer and bass player for sure. One little slip around the 2 minute mark on the bass but otherwise he kept it really tight with the drummer.

But I'm really digging the jump feel of Drive Away for sure. I'd actually buy a disc full of that stuff.

Cheers noise. I really like both Camo and Drive Away. The violin will be doing most of the solo work. They have awesome harmonies and we haven't even gotten to tracking them yet. It'll be sweet.

These tracks are all live so once retracking replaces some of the bed tracks, this stuff will rock.

I have an August 5th deadline so it will all be done and mastered by then. *knocks* on wood.

Hey all,

All 3 tracks are up now with vox and fiddle. We will still be adding harmony vox and more guitar.

All three songs are mixed intentionally different.. as in the focus is on different instruments in different songs. We are still trying to find their "sound" somewhat.

If you get a chance to listen, let me know your favorite.

This is great, Lonnie! This is currently my favorite genre to listen to. I'd call it alt-country. I'm enjoying all three songs over and over.

Like Noize said, I'd buy the finished versions of these were they made available for download!

Oh ya, sweet sounding for sure. I'm liking Drive away at the moment. Vocals stand out nicely with the fiddle. Both have a great sound. The guitar is settled in nicely in the mix for sure and the fiddle solo sounds great, right up front. The bass and drums are just great as well on this one. This one drives along nicely and has a good pace for sure.

Now doing Don't Bother. Nice shuffle to this one, really liked the drums on it, might be a little bit back in the mix but don't quote me on that. Again liked the fiddle on this, it sits nicely with the vox again and is a big part of the song.

I'll agree with Jim on the Alt Country feel of these indeed. Harmony vox and added guitars will be good on both, can't wait to hear that when its ready.

Hey guys, glad you are liking the tunes. After the next studio session I would say we are done tracking. Mix wise, I personally like having the violin out front like on "Drive Away" but really, it is up to the band now. I should know more about the direction we will take after the end of next week. I'm sure they will be happy to hear your comments.

Cheers,
Lonnie
