Aux Send/Return help

I have a quick question about the AUX send/return functions on mixing boards. If a mixing board has several AUX sends, but no AUX returns, would i just have to use a whole seperate channel as a "return"? The mixing board i have now at least has a couple "buss in" jacks, but the one i'm thinking about buying (this one, specifically: www.allen-heath.com/zed/zed-428.asp) does not seem to have any kind of Buss in/Aux return jacks for effects loops. So...use a free channel??

You can use a channel to return to. That gives you a lot of control over the return.

You can go in to your Bus in. You just don't have any EQ, or gain control over it.

The best way would be the channel. Unless your just looking to insert over a channel.

The difference is that when you insert, You lose the dry signal. You only get the effect returned back on an insert.
