Yeah. I'm at it again. I think that I starting to get the hang of this now.
Just had a show last night with Country singer Jeff Bates. Nice guy by the way.
I think these shots turned out OK.
Diemusik, that 50mm lens is killer when you can get in close.

Jun 20, 2008 02:49 am Nice shots Rob! I'd say your getting the hang of it for sure. They are all nice shots but that first one is beautiful.
That 50mm is great up close. That lens goes with me everywhere I shoot.
CptTripps I'm general not an advocate of encouraging someone to spend their money but that really is a nice lens for the dollar. I think you will be happy with it.
Well this weekend is Fun Ford Weekend in Petersburg,VA. I'm going to take a few pics at the drag races fellas. After I get back I'll see if I can dig up some more concert shots to post up with you guys. Have a great weekend!

Jun 20, 2008 06:33 pm A picture of a flight case....
GeeK!
Just kidding.
That first shot is superb.
Jun 21, 2008 01:24 am No Tallchap, your right. I am a Geek when it comes to new toys.
I drive my wife insane when ever I get something new.
Although, I am not as bad as her. I won't say what it was, but she actually slept with one of her new items.
Which I teased her mercilessly for.
I did take some pictures of the gig that I did tonight. But, it wasn't an amazing gig. It was a badly put together Gospel gig.
I wait until I get a better one to post any pictures.

Jun 22, 2008 10:03 pm Ok I just got home from the races and this is not a concert pic and not every that good of a shot but it was a dramatic moment. This guy rushed back to the lanes to make it in time to race and forgot to replace his hood pins. The hood opened up, smacked the windshield and flew off of the car. By the time I got the camera to my eye and fired off a shot the hood was several feet above the car.
And in other news I broke my 70-300mm zoom lens this weekend. Looks like I now have an excuse to get that big bad Canon zoom lens. :)

Jun 22, 2008 10:26 pm Very cool shot indeed. I've known a few twit's in my younger days that had that happen.
I might have to make that a desktop pic for awhile for fun.
Jun 22, 2008 11:57 pm I have the Canon EOS film camera system, and I've just been waiting for the price of the digital camera body to come down to a price that seems reasonable enough. I'm thinking about $100 cheaper and I'm going to jump on it.
Jun 23, 2008 03:03 pm Hey Diemusik, that is a killer shot. i love the fact that the brake lights are on.
Oops, guess I shoulda check the pins huh?
Herb, since they released the XSi, the XTi has now dropped in price. You should be able to find one right in your price range.

Jun 24, 2008 12:24 pm I have the EOS 35mm too. I've been lusting after that digital one for a while.
Perhaps Rob will get a macros lens to take pictures of guitar picks...
I kid, I kid...

Jun 24, 2008 12:57 pm I shoot with the Rebel XT and love it, I have seen it selling on craigslist with the 18-55 lens for around $300.
Jun 24, 2008 09:58 pm Oh... I guess I shouldn't post the ones of the picks huh?
No I know you only kidding.
The one thing that I should of taken a picture of was my car today, after I got off of work.
I looked as if the birds were trying to be patriotic. Red, White, And Blue droppings.
Took me over two and a half hours to clean it off my car.
I only took pictures of my car when I was done.
Jun 24, 2008 10:24 pm Here it is. All nice and clean.

Jun 25, 2008 05:19 am I was raised on Canon cameras. I still have my fathers camera, an FTb QL. I started on that then went to an AE-1, Eos Rebel, Rebel 2000, Rebel T2 and now the Xti Digital.
Nearly all of the EOS film accessories and lenses transfer over to digital for you guys who are thinking about making the switch. I still like film and I still like slides but the instant gratification of digital is very nice.
Speaking of my father, that reminds me that he had some great live shots of Eric Clapton in '74 on slides. I'll have to dig them out, scan them and post them up.

Jun 25, 2008 12:00 pm I actually took O'Level photography (for those Brits old enough to remember O'Levels...) and passed handily based on my B&W rock concert shots. Lots of very good contrast and action shots. I had an Olympus OM-10 system back then. Wish I still had (a) the camera, (b) the photographs. That's what emigrating to the USA cost me...
The thing about the EOS system lenses switching over to the digital is what has me drooling. I don't have to start from scratch.
