most of us here are not schooled in music production . I picked up these set of 3 books that are very indepth and are in my oppinon a better text book than the ones I've recived in collage for lesser classes . I'm not trying to sell them on anyone but for anyone beginner or advanced , i'm sure you'll benifit from these books . I started reading them and I can say i've come a way , the down fall is I don't spend a whole lot of time on HRC anymore with a lot of recording questions . They're I think 150$ US at musicians friend and out of all my studio equipment are 3 of my best tools .

Would love to hear more. What topics where covered and what was the flavor of the writings? I love picking up books that I can preview a little first to insure that I really can use them. So many of my college texts are heavly laden with "look at how smart I am" and books by women often babble. Just my taste and wiring, not condomnation. I love a book that not only covers a subject well but serves as a quick reference as well.

well walt , out of all the books or book sets I've looked at this one is one of the best i've seen . I've learned more from one half of one of the books than i did from one of my text books I have in collage . The writting is indepth and i do belive it explains how to do most of everything with anone bias approch and there is no product placement . the 1st book is basics explaining how everything works , from mixers to signal prossors , and all in between , Eq'ing , to micing . Some of the Vet's here at HRC might not get a whole lot out of the fist book because they have been recording for a bit but who know there are a lot of examples on many things especially micing . As i said i love the books because they go from using "old school" record studio practices to the digital world that most of us work in . All i can say is go look around at music stars or even if a barns and noble is close to you they might ihave 1 or 2 books or the set . the books are : The Audio Pro Home Recording Course by Bill Gibson published by Mix books www.artistpro.com
