Emu 1820m question

Hey there - I have a quick question about assigning output signals to input strips - Basically I want to be able to record audio that is playing back from my main stereo output from the 1820m card. For instance, say you are listening to a stream of a song on the internet and you want to record a part of it... How do you assign a channel input to capture that audio and record it on another channel? If anyone can help me with this I would be really grateful!

Do you have an external mixer? If so simply feed a pair of Aux outputs into a apir of inputs on the E-mu unit. Otherwise I thought they had an internal switching set up or patching set up similar to my ESI stuff that allowed simply patching via the software control panel from one audio application to another.
