Cubase metronome help!

Hi there. I'm new to Cubase and I have stupid question. I've been having problem with the metronome. I want to be able to keep the metronome running as reference while recording. However, I found that the metronome clicks get recorded (softly) as well and I can't get rid of it. (I ticked the box for audio click and click while recording). Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to have audio click while recording but not recorded?

I noticed there's there option of MIDI click, but I'm using a mac and I don't know how to set up a MIDI output. (I'm using Lexicon Alpha which doesn't have MIDI).

If anyone can give me some tips that'll be great. Much appreciated! =)

Your click is bleeding thru? Adjust your speaker/mic placement or try recording thru headphones.

I do record through headphones. The click bled through not only when I mic-ed an acoustic guitarbut also when I was recording guitar direct in via a line 6 floor pod.

ok thats just odd. I've never encountered that problem. Let me think on that for a bit and see what I can come up with.

Thank you. I'm using a Lexicon Alpha if that helps.

Can you post a clip? The only way the click will get recorded is if the output is being routed to the input. Are you using a mixer infront of the lexicon? If you unplug the mic/guitar and record silence, does it still record the click?

i had the same problem a while back, what i did was turned off the click. and programmed a hihat/snare in a midi drum track instead, worked fine for me, only problem was latency, so i had to ajust the time bar to compensate (which i used a click for, seeing as it is playback not record there is no bleeding of click into track)
it's a complicated way of doing things, but it works, maybe until the real problem is solved, you could use this solution

I've never heard of this issue or had it with my setup. Thats weird cause I have every problem possible most of the time. Have you tried the official cubase forums?

No I don't use a mixer. I think I wil try creating a rhythm track with Garage Band and import it to Cubase and see what happens.
