An old new tune up. :)

This is a track that I put together for a close friend of mine while he was working on a game design project for one of their classes. The name of their "team" was Skydiving Chicken (which was also the name of the first track I did for them) I incorporated part of the first melody into this melody.

I should post the first one as well, but sadly, it is a bit dated, and I lost the original project file, so there won't be any revamping it.

Pretty cool sounds on this one. It does sound very game like in the movement of it. And the sounds are pretty true to some games out there. Kind of old school games if I might say so. Nice flow to it though for sure. I really liked a lot of the little bits that are in there. There is a lot of movement in there that gives it a very interesting feel and keeps one listening. I only wish it were a bit longer.

Aye, that's always the trick to certain types of game music. Getting enough ideas out for things to work, and for there to be some development, but keeping it short enough so that it can be looped.

I wanted to keep this one within 3 minutes since it was for the menu-them hehe. The actual race themes are even shorter, at about 1:30min !!! But they're written so they loop seamlessly while you race through the level.

Anyhoo, the team liked the work well enough, and I gave them 4 or 5 tracks to work with, including a couple for winning or running out of time. Unfortunately due to certain decisions among their group leader, they got pressed for time, and couldn't use everything I gave them. Heh, my friend was rather po'd at the leader -lol- It was a good experience though.

I've always hated trying to run a decent menu theme. Partly because some will be there for only a few seconds so you feel as though your wasting good music there. But others can sit in a menu for 20 minutes while doing set up or just piddling around making choices.

I've been on a couple were the main theme had to run over 10 minutes long but also needed dramatic changes throughout so they could jump about in it as the player made different choices while still retaining the original feel and sound. not an easy task at all to run one that long.

But I liked this one and as stated could see it easily running longer for sure.
