Logic Pro8 and Pro Tools HD 7.4.1

I have a question,

Why do I hear people using this to DAWs and always hear them say, " Whatever sound or music I make in logic I record in to ProTools from Logic"

can some one explain theis to me?

The only reason I could think of to do this is if a client specifically requested to mix in ProTools but the only multi i/o device available was not a digi product. Record into Logic via MOTU 24 I/O or what have you and import into a ProTools LE project via MBox 2 mini (as a dongle). Other than that it seems kind of masochistic.
