Hi,
A quick question about 'MIDI Out' versus 'MIDI Thru'.
I have a Kurtweil MicroPiano sound module that takes a MIDI signal from my keyboard, generates the sound, and then passes the MIDI signal onto my computer via the MIDI Thru port.
I'd like to route my keyboard MIDI through my Soundcard first then 'thru' to the sound module (so both the PC sequencer AND my keyboard can send midi to the sound module). However there is no 'MIDI Thru' port on my soundcard, only a MIDI Out, which doesn't seem to be sending anything out!
Any ideas how I can make the MIDI out port act like MIDI thru? Or would I need software on my PC to route the MIDI in to the MIDI out? Can anyone clear this up for me?
Sorry if it's a stupid question - I'm learning!
