Ok, so I got the FW1884 in today, and I don't know if I'm stupid or what but I just can't get it to, uh, work.

I've read through the manual and now I'm twice as confused as I was before... help?

Soooooooo it looks like I just dropped a bunch of money on a control surface to use with an app that isn't compatible with control surfaces.

Awesome.

I'll take a look tomorrow, but I swear I read that GB can be used with a control surface.

You know, it's funny, because I swear that I read that too, and that I was told that by countless people as well.

But now I'm being told that GB + control surfaces = NO!

I tune down down...

If you're ready for a control surface, I would think that you're software savvy enough to upgrade to a more efficient program...

But, know that's not cheap either. Ha.

Another interesting question... if GB can't be used with control surfaces, then why does this exist?

Yeah...I've been thinking about buying one of those M-Audio controllers to use with GarageBand, but the reviews seem to be a bit mixed. I've never heard of any other control surfaces that are designed to be used with GB. Maybe there's a reason for that?

Yeah, that's interesting. I just checked, and the only MIDI controller with my version of GB is iControl (the M-Audio one). I don't own Logic, but it would be pretty cool if what that guy is saying really works!

Good find...

That's awesome, but I don't have logic express, so that doesn't really help me. BUT it's a step in the right direction, now I just need to track down what I need.
