What's a good 24 channel controller? Preferably, 24 mono and maybe 8 buses. Sounds good. Ha. Price not really an HUGE issue.

Anyone have experience with one or own a good one?

Oh. And running Nuendo will upgrade to a from of actual Cubase soon, I hope... So, no digidesign stuff. :P

Do you want a digital desk or control surface? I don't think controllers have dedicated buses, just faders.

Wouldn't recommend the tascam us2400. Didn't have a good time with it. Also had a run on a Mackie X-bus on the other side of the spectrum. It had issues lol.

Well, I guess I'm not really sure of the difference. I want something that controls the software completely. And I'd like to have a physical EQ. 4 band or what have you. I don't need anything to track with or capture the recording, I ahve that now. Just want something that allows me to edit the digital recordings hands on.

Sounds like a control surface deal. Mackie make a nice 8 fader surface that you can link to make 24. Don't have experience with anything else sorry.

I have a Kensington track ball with a big scroling ring around the track ball. Whatever you hover over the scroll ring will control. Faders, panning, knobs, you name it.

They have some good stuff. You will have a hard time finding anything with a dedicated 4 knob EQ set up. Most are usually set to have the knob portion jump to different functions with a button push though. Pretty easy.

I've used the Euphonix stuff as well as Mackie and Tascam. While Tascam has ironed out some problems they still have a couple issues but are a good price. Mackie as well is riding out the issues as well but coming along nicely and are easily joined together to make a rather large control desk.

Walt, that looks like a good thing to get here in a few days even. Ha. Just to have fun with and rest my clicky. Haha...

Noize, all I have to say is WOW on the Euphomix System 5 controller.

Thanks guys!

Have a look at the Hybrid system if ya really want to drool.

Although I think you would be better suited to stick with the Artist Series stuff as it is more at the level that is easier to learn.

Hmmm... After looking some more and asking my friend about things... Anyone have an idea under $6,000? Perhaps something that I can just assign the channels to particular faders via a touch screen or something?

You could always get a midi control surface, evena keyboard, and assign the faders and knobs to your DAW. That is what I do, and I spent under 200 bucks on the control surface.

Do you think that would be a better set up than the Tascam DM4800?
